1. Aside from my husband, my BF is “N”. She is one other person I can’t imagine not having in my life. N is the most honest, decent and accepting human being I know, aside from the Hub.
2. We became friends because I think we both desperately felt left out and ostracized in grade school and needed to find “our people.”
3. We had both been sent to the OT classroom in 4th grade because we both had seriously awful eye-hand motor skills. Our penmanship was beyond hope. Gym class was miserable. We were socially awkward, especially in larger groups.
4. We have had a lot of common experiences and share a bond. Senior year of high school we went together to Spain to be exchange students for a month. We also hosted students. We were both education majors in college. (Spanish for me; library sciences for her) Her parents divorced when my parents divorced. When her mom died, my dad died. When her refrigerator went out, so did mine! Same with ovens. Unbeknownst to the other, we even bought the same replacement appliances! We also endured a miscarriage at nearest the same time.
