Wishful tweaking.

Occasionally I wish there were a way to "favorite" DW posts to come back to them to read later. I realize there's both a) tabs in my browser window and b) the "memories" feature, but I occasionally wish I could do something similar to what I do with Twitter, which is to pin stuff I might not have time to read on the run and then come back to it later, where I can see all the pinned posts on a single page.

Tabs don't work well for that because I'd have 40,000 tabs open. Also, I read across multiple devices, and the tabs don't always sync up between devices based on the browswer. OneTab, which at least condenses everything to a single tab, doesn't really sync across browsers, either.

"Memories" is okay, except I like to keep "memories" more tailored towards, well, just that - stuff that you like so much that you want to keep it around forever and ever, and not just stuff that I want to set aside for a little bit.

I realize it's probably completely unworkable, but I can dream.

I actually will dump DW pages into Pocket, my general read-later app. Sometimes I can't read then in there because privacy but it still keeps the link and reminds me to go back.

I have not used Pocket -- that sounds like it might work! I shall go check it out.

I can't link from my phone, but Google "One Tab"! It might help.

I use OneTab at home - if only I could then sync it to my work computer, or phone, or tablet so that tabs saved at one device downloaded on another, that would be ace. (Gods, I am spoiled.)

Well, there's the ability to sticky your own posts when you want them to stay at the top. Maybe a suggestion could be made to be able to sticky someone else's posts at the top of your reading page?

Firefox does sync across computers/devices now (with an account, which is no more than a username/password).

Re: Pocket, I've tried but don't like because you have to sign in just to see your bookmarks. I take it it's like de.licious for the browser. Or something like that. Firefox syncing is something I wish we had years (like 10 of them) ago. Lost so many bookmarks over the years to device re-installs, computer crashes, whatever, that I can never gather all together again.

Some people swear by instapaper?

I signed up to pinboard in the early migration from delicious (back when it was a one-off payment), and it's not QUITE as integrated as delicious (no right-click-a-hyperlink-to-save) but there's a 'quick pin' applet which you bookmark and use to save a page for later. I've also found a decent apple-pinboard app, although it cost a few bucks. I think new pinboard accounts end up with a monthly or yearly membership fee now, so it might not be your best choice.
