ofearthandstars: A painted tree, art by Natasha Westcoat (I have loved the stars too fondly)
I have survived another revolution of the sun! I woke up early this morning and began my run beneath the stars, which is breathtaking in its own way. Three miles later (yes, three!), the sun was just peeking over the horizon. I was *so* excited - for covering that distance, and for just being able to be up and moving and happy and alive. To be surrounded by the stars and the birds and to feel my own strength as my body carried me forward.

I have survived this far.

Photo is a picture from the top of Haleakala in Maui, Hawaii at sunrise, where the sun can be seen reflecting off the the tops of clouds below, taken in July 2011.
