To crawl, to stand, to walk, to run.

One of the gifts I received for my birthday was a GPS runner's watch. This is a godsend, because (having an ancient cellphone), the only way I could measure my runs previously was to do so in the car, then stick to the same boring path. Now I have the freedom to explore new streets and routes and have my distance right in front of me. This morning I used it for the first time, and in doing so I ran 5K. It took 10 weeks, and I'm still fairly slow, since that run took 38 minutes, but I am so freakin' stoked/squeeful/happy-dancing. I did this. I am a runner! I think next I will work on upping my pace. I'd like to be able to run faster so that I can think about covering longer distances within my daily schedule.
*jumps up and down a little more*
Also, it is a gorgeous September day here.

Last night, L. and I watched Snow White and the Huntsman, since apparently there's a free preview weekend going on HBO. We watched this with the full intent of making fun of it the entire time (oh, there really should be a Rifftrax to this movie). Things I learned (not spoilerish):
1. Women who can scream loudly wield great power.
2. Apparently Gollum procreated and produced a ton of rabbit-riding creeptastic magical fairy Mini Mes.
3. There is not an incredible difference between Kristin Stewart speaking a line and the long pauses in-between.
Other than a few pretty visuals, there is nothing redeeming this movie. Nothing. Oh, boy, we laughed ourselves silly riffing it.

In other news, I geeked out this morning when I found this, and now one is on the way to me. *grins*
Off to the library now, I think.
